RISE: Improving the way you live with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
Exercises Designed for RA
Though it's no substitute for treatment, regular exercise can benefit how you live with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The key is to start slowly, progress at a comfortable pace, and keep a journal to track how you're doing. Once you develop a routine, the results should be well worth your effort.
Please consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program.
Below you'll find a series of video clips with exercises specially designed for people with RA. Just click on one of the exercises to begin, and let certified Pilates instructor Manette LaChance be your guide. To relax your muscles and joints before you start, consider applying some moist heat, perhaps with a towel, to the areas on your body that you'll be exercising.
